We get this question enough that we thought we’d share the answer here. We know that macarons can seem expensive, but when you break down what goes into a macaron, the cost may make a little more sense.
There’s a lot that goes into a macaron that increases the price for production: ingredients, time, and effort… and there’s plenty of room for error.
The main ingredients in macarons, such as almond flour, egg whites, and sugar, need to be of exceptional quality to achieve the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Almond flour, sourced from premium almonds, is finely ground to create a smooth and delicate consistency. Did you know the best macarons (like ours!) use almond flour that costs more than nine times as much as regular all-purpose wheat flour?
Additionally, our macarons are filled with luscious ganache or delicate fillings made with high-quality chocolate, natural extracts, and premium butter.
Precise measurements of expensive ingredients and meticulous attention to detail during the whole process are required. One small mistake can result in a baking sheet filled with bad macarons that can’t be used!
Did you know?
But, if it’s all done correctly, the end result is the most beautiful treat, unlike anything you’ve ever had before.
Macarons are one of the more complex desserts to make. That’s why only experienced bakers make them. Our bakers are specially trained in the art of macaron-making!
So, what do you think? Worth the effort and worth the price? What’s your vote?
