Spotlight on Owners Aaron and Christi

It was love at first sight for owners Aaron and Christi… when it came to Le Macaron! After visiting the Le Macaron cafe in Cincinnati, Ohio, they knew they had to bring their own take on the French cafe to the Indianapolis area, specifically Fishers, an area experiencing vibrant growth. 

But how did they get to that point? Here’s a Reader’s Digest version:

• Aaron and Christi met in Lexington, Kentucky on a blind date in 2004, just after Aaron finished his time with the Marine Corps and Christi was wrapping up her college experience at the University of Kentucky.
• After graduation, Christi moved an hour and a half away to work for the Actors Theater of Louisville in the costume department. A long distance relationship began!
• After Aaron graduated from college in 2008, he relocated to Indianapolis for a job with the Department of Defense.
• Aaron convinced Christi to join him, and in 2011, they were engaged. They married in December 2012.

Fast forward 10 years, and Christi was ready to try something new. Enter Le Macaron, and the rest is history! Le Macaron had its soft opening in December 2022 in the First Internet Bank building on 116th Street in Fishers and officially opened a month later!

When they’re not in the cafe, Aaron and Christi enjoy watching movies, visiting cool new spots in the area, and spending time with their cat, Merlin!

Aaron served in the Marine Corps after high school before going to the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!) to pursue his accounting degree.

3 Unexpected Facts About Aaron

1. Took a selfie with a lion and hot air ballooned over the savannah while on safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya. 
2. Wanted to join the Air Force after high school, but let his twin brother persuade him into joining the Marine Corps as radio operators in the infantry. (After their service in the Marines, Aaron chose the next career for them to pursue together–accounting. They’ve been a couple of nerds ever since.)
3. Great French Horn and Trumpet player in highschool marching band.  (Don’t ask him to play now… it would probably sound terrible!) 

Fun Facts about Christi Parker, Co-owner of Le Macaron

Christi attended the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!) where she majored in Theatrical Design with an emphasis on costuming. After a career in costuming and fabrics, she was ready for the next sweet chapter with Le Macaron French Pastries!

3 Unexpected Facts about Christi

1. Introduced Pogs (hello 90s!) to her elementary school and was known for her extensive collection.
2. Taught her Maine Coon cat, Merlin to play fetch! Maine Coons are known to be dog-like, and it’s cute to see a cat fetch!
3. Though costumes were her focus in theater, the vocal production classes she took in college helped her hone her whistling skills. She can even warble while she belts out a tune!
